Currently, intensive field work is underway to collect data from dendrometers as part of the After project "LIFE+ ForBioSensing".

Dendrometers have many functions, e.g.:

✅ they automatically measure changes in trunk circumference,

✅ they store data (they are saved in the device's internal memory),

✅ they measure air temperature.

The dendrometer can save measurement data in the event of: power loss, when the memory capacity is exhausted and allows exporting measurement data to a laptop and restoring the measurement data after the power is restored.

The memory capacity allows for storing at least 40,000 typical measurements. This allows for recording a complete set of measurement data, in at least two consecutive seasons, years, with a measurement frequency of every hour. The measurement accuracy is no less than one micrometer. Currently, dendrometers are suspended on 9 species of forest trees.

Research activities such as this project are crucial for preserving biodiversity and effectively managing forest resources.
