The Białowieska Forest, admiring the biodiversity: Rut in the Białowieża Forest
During the September field work carried out by the ForBioSensing team, an important place is occupied by observing and listening to an unusual phenomenon called the rut. This is the deer mating season, which is characterized by a loud roaring of males, commonly known as "bulls". This is a signal for potential rivals - "I'm in charge here, don't come near!" The older and stronger the male, the lower his tone is spent.
Measurement of monitoring surfaces in the Forest is an opportunity to see this spectacular nature spectacle more than once. Without disturbing the lives of animals, ForBioSensing employees return from the area richer with an unforgettable experience, and sometimes also with recordings and photos. This also happened this time. Today we present to you a male deer who visited the team on one of the monitoring surfaces and honored the work with his loud roaring.
Directly experiencing wildlife is an unforgettable experience and an opportunity to return to the natural rhythm of life.
